History

Elite Dance Studio, one of Canada’s best dance studios offering world-class dance education, was founded and is currently owned by two of Canada’s finest world-class ballroom dance performers: Dominic Lacroix and Delphine Romaire. A renowned dance couple, Dominic and Delphine both pour their hearts out in teaching and training their students in this state-of-the-art dance studio.

How this studio came about and how these superb dancers became partners is what would be discussed in the next few paragraphs.

It all started in an end-of-season ballroom dance recital. Delphine, who had been dancing since she was three years old, had to take a missing girl’s place in the recital. That’s where she first met Dominic, who was also a participant in that same recital. Dominic, at that time, had already started taking dance lessons to be able to dance like Dirty Dancing’s Patrick Swayze. He started out with his first love – music – singing in bands and playing the guitar.

After that meeting, Dominic and Delphine began dancing together just out of whim. It was not until they saw a video of the 1989 World Latin Championships in Montreal that the two began to take dancing to an all new level. They transferred to Montreal, training under Canada’s best dance teachers, then later on moved to London for a three-year intensive ballroom dance training.

Having been trained by world-class dance professionals and having been exposed to various dances and competitions, Dominic and Delphine began to gather trophies and recognition in the world of ballroom dancing. They became eight-time Canadian Ballroom Dance Champions and eventually put up a school to be able to impart their skills and knowledge to others.
